When you're pregnant, you're subject to a number of dietary restrictions: no raw meat or fish, no cheese made from raw milk, no seafood... and of course, no alcohol!
However, awareness of the dangers of alcohol during pregnancy was relatively late to develop in France. For example, the prevention logo for pregnant women on alcohol bottles only dates back to 2006... Even though the risks are real for the baby: it can develop foetal alcohol syndrome, a mental retardation linked to alcohol consumption during pregnancy.

Faced with this reality, there's only one solution: zero alcohol during pregnancy!

But can you still eat a good beef bourguignon when you're pregnant?

The answer is no!

And with good reason: even if a dish is simmered for several hours - as is the case with boeuf bourguignon - not all the alcohol evaporates!
After 2 hours of simmering, 10% of the alcohol remains in the dish.
And be careful!

For recipes that are simply flambéed (crêpes suzettes, omelette norvégienne...) or soaked cakes (baba au rhum, forêt noire...): the alcohol doesn't have time to evaporate! So you'll have to choose another alternative to treat your taste buds.
